Welcome to FTE. Tranny temp gauge and an auxiliary or replacement cooler should be your first step. Next up would be to install a shift kit from transgo or sonnax to firm up your shifts.

Also, if you have a 99 - 03 7.3 super duty then you have a 4R100 tranny not the E4OD. And don't feel bad about the questions. It's always better to learn from others mistakes when it comes to adding power.

You either need 25 posts or become a supporter to get a signature.

The shift kit firms up your shifts. Firmer shifts means less slippage so the tranny lasts longer. If you want a bullet proof transmission, you can visit Brian's Truck Shop (BTS) in Arkansas. He will build your tranny and then dare you to try and break it.

Monitoring fuel pressure is nice but not necessary. EGT, Boost and Tranny temp are the 3 big ones.

To give you an idea of how Brian builds a tranny, here's a link to his son blowing his block into 3 pieces without damaging the tranny. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ece-motor.html

Still think you're up for that dare.

When are you planning on changing chips and injectors? You'll need custom tunes when you swap injectors. If you decide you want something closer, Tony Wildman at TDP is in Fort Worth, (soon to be Justin) Texas. He's got some good tunes and can offer live tuning a little closer to home.

Either Tony of DP will run circles around your Edge. They will even adjust their tunes if you tell them you have a BTS since they know the tranny can handle the power.

If you have an appointment, Brian should be able to have you in and out in one day.
