Just received my new AutoKrafters magazine. Did Ford make a 4 door Bronco or is the one on the Krafters catalog a stretch custom ?? I have never seen one on the road, how many were produced??
Ford did not make a 4-door bronco. You could special a centurion custom in the early 90's but not in 78 or 79. I do remember seeing a picture of a customized 4-door 79 some ctime back in one of the mags. It was ,like, a crew cab with a bronco back grafted onto it. Wild-Huh.
Guys, This is the second one of these fine pieces of work that have been all custom built, the one on Auto Krafters cover is David Gardner's, it looks pretty much like Trenton Wilson's "PICADOR" which he built a while back, it, how ever is built on a F250 chassis, I have seen his pictures on his website of the whole fantastic transformation, I think he is a very experianced body man to have pulled this off, heck, anyone who could pull this off has to be an engineering genius
I have lost Trenton Wilson's website address, so if he sees this may be he'll share his pictures with us once again, I think that both of these trucks were built BEFORE Ford brought out the EXCURSION, ever think that may be this is where they got the idea?
I think the Centurions were built in Sturgis Mi. they make F450 and F550 dually pickups also. I read an article about the 4dr Broncos a few years back. I think it said they were built mostly out of all new Ford parts, using a SuperCab chassis, CrewCab cab, and Bronco rear body section. I saw one on the used car lot across the street from the Ididit steering column factory in Clinton Mi. several years ago. Also saw the web site with the Picador build up. It was even bigger, I think he used a CrewCab, then Supercab quarter windows, then Bronco rear body, all on a custom streched frame. He was building a second one too! -Ed B
