Hey SD guys! Well the wife gave me permission to get a plow for my 05. Heres my predicament. I have a TOP GUN bumper which is like a ranch hand. It sticks out farther than stock and i am wondering if anyone knew of a plow that would accomodate a plow. Any help would work as well as pics of plows that stick out a little farther. i just need one that doesnt hug the front end really tight. thanks in advance
I run an older Meyer plow, I only do a couple driveways- family members. I take off the Ranch Hand and put a stock front that I got off a repair from work. I just Scheibed it gold to match the rockers, its only on there a few months. Maybe you can find a decent one cheap in a salvage yard just for the winter. Just my .02
jagski2, you wouldnt have any pics would you. if you do, would you mind emailing them to me. (JD_F250@hotmail.com) that would be awesome. i thought about swapping bumpers but the top gun is BIG and 250 lbs. then i have to worry about storage.
I can't get any pics. I would E-mail Curtis and get the dimensions. I'm sure they could make a frame hanger with the extension you need. Hope I helped.

True, I figure mines easily that much. I used a come-along but now I have a 1 ton elec. hoist that is secured in the roof joists in the garage, makes install/removal alot easier. Then I have a piano dolly that either the bumper or the plow sits on for ease of relocation- within the garage of course.
There are several manufacturers that make plows with the hydraulic pump mounted on the a-frame of the plow. This should provide enough clearance. Blizzard, SnoWay, Boss all come to mind. The final choice will hinge both on clearance issues, budget, and application.
