The clutch just went out on my 94 F350. I'm not sure yet if it is factory DMF or a SMF flywheel. I'd like to swap to a SMF while I got it out if it's not already. I've tried turning the other ones before and they suck.
What brand is best to put in and where can I get one? I'm looking for an online place to order it since the parts places around here are all idiots! I'm about to start pulling it right now so need some advice quick.
Which one from valair do you all recommend? I pull way too much all the time but I'm easy on it. I always liked ceramic button clutches but my engine is stock and staying that way. How do these clutches feel?
What do you all think of southbend clutches? I just found a whole kit for 557.00 with free shipping. It includes the SMF, and everything. Kevlar pilot too. I sure like solid pilots vs needle bearing ones.
The other ones say they are, but they probably are just mass produced in a factory here in the US with aprts from china.
You call up valair and talk to one of the guys over there.
Tell then what you got, and what you do and what you wanna do.
They will BUILD you a clutch to fit your needs.
not just some mass produced piece of crap.
The Flywheels are made here in michigan by the way, down in D-town. =)
How much do you think valair will get me for shipping on the clutch and flywheel? I already know they are going to get me for tax since I'm in Texas too. I don't know if I can afford all this but I'll give them a call. This is my year of hell I swear. One thing after another in the past year.
Is the one with the HD spring hub worth the extra hundred bucks? I tow 20,000 pounds a lot is why I ask and I hate being broke down.
If you go with Valair, order it using my address. I am out of state if the tax thing means that much to ya and I will send it to ya. The shipping might be twice the amount of the tax though.Hahaha
