Ryan's rehab thread

Well like I have many other days before I woke up in some place other then my bed, quezy and impaired. Surrounded by the evidence of quite the epic night. But, there is a silver lining this was kinda my farewell party, my new years resolution I'm giving up drinking cold turkey, and it worked out well passed out at 11:45 so I still haven't had a drink this years.

I'm not really one to go to AA and whatnot but thought maybe a thread to display my troubles may be in order......I know I'm shocked too

I think the cold turkey approach is the best. I also recommend ridding yourself of any temptations like booze hanging around, etc

I will be over shortly to pick up your booze. I will also be picking up cigarettes from those who are giving up smoking and chocolate from those on diets!

Well buddy, if your serious bout it, I wish ya luck, its not that hard to do!

I think I can count on one hand how many times I went drinking last year, and I believe 3 of them were with you lol.

Mind you we didnt have that many each time.

Maybe about 6 years ago or so, I used t party it up all the time, was nothing unusual to finish 3 24 packs in a weekend. After awhile other things become more important, and it pays off.

You ever need a fairly booze free place to hang out, you know where I live!

Yeah the free non alcoholic drinks are a nice perk!

Sometimes its tough being the only sober one while everyone else is all loaded and "having fun" but after awhile that stuff gets old too.

Being the DD, can be a lot more fun, as you get to laugh at them acting so dumb tonight, and then you also get to laugh at them tomorrow, while they suffer! Hang in there, it will get easier.

I never took up the habit of drinking beer. I have gotten addicted to my Pepsi. I'm trying to wean myself form that stuff. Too much sugar and weight gain.

I been the DD for lots of friends. Sadly most bars I have found do not give you free drinks. They charge me for a glass of pop the same as if I bought a beer. If you get water. They do not want to come around your table to serve you. The barmaids know the guy that is drinking will tend to tip them more while imbibing.
One bar only gave one free drink to designated drivers.
The other thing about being the DD is the blackmail you could do.

I forgot to mention about the blackmail, lol. It could be a second income, and provide more spending dollars for trucks and stuff.
