Transmission Filter
Finally fixin to get around to changing the fluid in the C4 in my 72 F100. I went and bought a filter kit today, filter/pan gasket. The filter is just a metal body with a screen. Is there not a gasket of any kind that goes from the filter to the valve body to make it seal? Thanks, happy new years everybody.

One more question... I'm not sure if the fluid in this transmission has ever been changed before. Does anybody recommend I drain out all the old fluid in the pan and the torque converter and replace with new, or half and half, filter some of the old and put it back in? I figured the old has band material in it and might should be left in there for the clutches to grab to. Is the Super-Tech type F from walmart ok to use? Debating on adding a quart of Lucas to it also. Thanks.
