After searching out this problem here I've had no luck with this on a 06 Nav. Shifter stuck in park! I'm on level ground and the brake lights work. Just woke up one morning and it was stuck. No warning. Seems my fuse box is different than what shows in the manual. Could someone please help? Thanks,Marvin
If you look at your owners manual there's a way to by-pass the interlock (see page 284). My guess is that it may be your brake light switch. If it's like my 99 it's two switches in one, one for the brake lights, and one for the interlock.
I have an 06 Nav also. If you pry up the silver bezel from around the shifter you will see the tab to release your shifter manually in the upper left. I've never done it, but I think you put a screwdriver in that slot and that releases the shifter. I have the full 2006 Navigator owners manual in PDF form that i can email you (or you can go to lincoln.com and download it yourself).
I really appreciate and will take you up on the how-to manual. Go ahead and email it to me in case I can't find it at lincoln.com. (marvin_long2@sbcglobal.net)
