1976 F250 Ignition Switch Housing

Hey comrades. My ignition switch was getting real flakey, so I pulled it out thinking a replacement would be fairly easy to find. Not so, all the ignition switch housings my truck called for did not match what I pulled off. I have a 1976 F250 Custom Cab 4x4 - although the "F250 Custom" emblem on the cowl suggest it's a 1977. It has a 390-2V in it which also suggests it's a pieced together truck, I think.

Anyway, the switch housing I pulled out had this part number: D6TB-11572-AA.

I checked the part number decoder on this site and it seems to match up. But, can anyone tell me what vehicles this switch housing came on originally? Was it the E250 Van?

I am not too familiar with those year trucks, but is there a function problem with the replacement switches(they won't physically fit or the terminals are wrong) or is this a cosmetic problem(the other switches will work but they don't look the same)?

It's a functional problem - the electrical plug will not fit (it's not the same shape) as the switches I've been sent, so far. The terminals do not match, either.

I had a little luck finding a replacement via NAPA's Online Search. I punched in the part number I posted earlier using the Part Number search with "interchange" selected and up it came. Here it is... If anyone knows what this switch came on originally, I'd still like to know.

I tried to put the URL here, but it didn't work; so, here's how I found it:
1) go to http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Default.aspx
2) typed the part number into the Part Number Search
3) click "Interchange"
4) click the Search button below it.

I can't get it to work for me. I thought if you had the Napa number or the Echlin or whoever made it number, you could find out some more info.

Thanks for your efforts to help, sir. It is much appreciated. I probably left out a step somewhere...

All's well that ends well, right? I drove the truck in to work today.

Thanks.
