upper intake torque specs please

upper intake torque specs please

took the upper intake manifold off of my 88 5.8L with efi just need the torque specs for the 6 upper intake bolts, thanks

Its 12-14 ft/lbs , upper to lower intake ...Lew

idk the only info i can find for the plentum torque specs is 89 inch pounds.....
and that was for the 5.4l

5.0,5.0 HO and 5.8 lower intake is 23-25 ft pounds.... but what u said does sound right....

i always tightened to what i felt was good....

The 23-25 ft/lbs for the lower is good , i don't ever torque the upper , just nice & tight , thats about 12-18 ft /lbs, After working on motors for years you just get the feel for it , heads , lower intake ect i use the torque wrench ...

Industry std. torque for 5/16" grade 8 hardware is 18 #/ft. (but I'm always scared to pull that on the T30 bolt with a 1/4" drive socket).

Cast is 23-30 ib and aluminum 18; however the 4 corners keep at 15

Aluminun 18 ft obd and cast 23-30 ft of the four corner bolt leave at 15 ft lbs

I used the German torque spec "gudentight" on mine and just torqued them in a normal torque sequence from the middle out.

the upper intake is just air and vacuum it doesn't have to be gorilla tight just snug.
