78 you can do a lot of things if your creative jucies are flowing, but it wont bolt up. Just take a look under the hood of a 4X4,and then a 2X4 and you should see the difference.

78,
A tilt column and only the tilt columns will interchange between 2wd. and 4wd. you will however have too remove the 4x4 steering shaft from the column if it has not already been removed. A non-tilt column will not interchange. I personally have done this swap for in my truck.
Well, I guess if you really think about it, your right. So now I'm stuck, Is there a part that you can change and make it work? Is there something I can do, anyone want to trade? It is a automatic tilt, with cruise, and it comes with the steering wheel! Help! I do have a auto column in it right now.
78 as in my first post, get them juices flowing. Inside the cab should be the same. Pull your existing column and make the changes for below the firewall.

Thanks John, I have the Ford assembly drawings and it looks like all it differs is a column shaft that I can take off my old auto non-tilt column. I will let everyone know how it goes.
