wireing help

I was out driving next to my woods with the lights on and the radio on and i am stopping to take it out of 4 high got it out and just sitting and it just dies i look up everything is dead im thinking ok the battery cable is loose so i leave the door open and get out i just unlatch it and the light in the cab comes on so i get in it turn the key and get going it is running ratty i am doing 10 and it does it again 1000 foot from the last time and do the same thing but this time when i get in it turn the key and turn on the radio its just that high pitch sount when u hit the gas the radio gets louder i shut the radio off and get on it and it seems ok i get it up to the house get out the exhaust leak sound is gone it seemed diffrent and when i would hit the gas sitting there the cab light would get brighter

Curtis,
i had a 76 that the lights would act up when opening the door, dome light on. the wire that goes up the left windshield pillar to feed the dome light, was pinched under the bolt that anchored the parking brake foot pedal to the dash. that took me a while to figure out!

Check all of your main grounds ie. chassie, motor block, etc.
