1st I have a 1995 F250 with the 351 windsor in it.
I had some issues with the original motor so I bought a used 351 out of a 1990 knowing the distributor cap would need to be changed and some plugins was differant. My mechanic called this morning and told me that he may have an issue with the timing. Now when I hear this I start to freak out (I'm not mechanically capable of doing big projects like this!)
If I could get any tips or suggestions on what to do nex it would be great!
What issue does he have?
If he talking about Ignition Timing:
You just pull out the SPOUT jumper, put a timing light on #1 plug wire and turn the distributor to 10 BTDC.
Put the SPOUT back in and you are good to go.
If he is talking about the timing chain then he just needs to change it.
