I am going to be putting the new (used, but new to me) Mazda 5 speed into my '91 Explorer and need to know the torque specs for the top cover. I took it off to take a look at the condition of the tranny and would like torque the bolts to the proper specifications if any one knows what they are.
The second question is, does anyone know where I might find the rubber gasket for the top cover (old one looks alright, but I don't want any leaks) and the shifter gasket?
Got the right one, I hope. I searched for 'transmission rebuild kits' and 'ford transmission rebuild kits' and 'manual transmission rebuild kits' and coughed up:
Thanks a lot, every place in town has only full rebuild kits and can't get individual parts, I will check that place out. The tranny I bought was rebuilt only 15,000 miles ago (I have the receipt and saw it in the vehicle and checked the mileage before I got it) and looks to be in real good shape, so I'm not going to rebuild. Hopefully I can find the shifter gasket at least, its all I really need, I just kind of wanted to replace that rubber one on the top cover, but it should be fine.
