Howdy folks!
I just picked up my '70 F100 and it needs a new rear end. Now I have seen 9 in rear ends(what it has now) going for approx. $135 online. I haven't done much shopping though, so I suppose I could do better. My first question is this:
Would it be more cost/time efficient to buy a new rear end or buy a rebuild kit(if there is one available)?
Second:
The gears in it currently seem a little short for my application; I use it for a daily driver for now.Seems like I reach hi revs at lower freeway speeds(55-65). Does anyone know what gears to put into the rear end to bring those revs down a little? I enjoy the lower speed power, put would like to sacrifice pulling and accelleration power for a little more top end juice.
Any help is appreciated!!!!!!
THANKS
Shane
