Bringing it up in front

I have seen a ton of postings on here about leveling the front end and there seems to be three common ways of doing this. Using spacers is out of the question because my front springs are toast anyways. So that leaves me with buying 2 inch leveling springs or 844/844s springs. Seems that the leveling springs will cost about $40-50 than the 844. Now I am wonder what is the better way to go. I don't mind a rougher ride like a 3/4 or 1 ton would be like, but I really don't want the front end to bounce and skip sideways every time I hit a bump. I have no plans to mount a plow or winch in the front, but it will be seeing a push bar and possibly a custom bumper. I also plan to add a leaf or two to the rear spring packs since this truck will be pulling my car trailer a large amount of the time so it will be alittle stiffer back there.

So are the leveling springs really worth the extra money or is the 844/844s the better way to go.

the spacers are ok, and for the most part it will maintain a close to stock ride quality. the problem with them is they hyperextend the shocks. after being extended for a while, the shocks go completely out then the suspension gets bouncy. simple solution: there are a few companies (rough country, bilstein, etc) that make shocks specifically for trucks that are lifted only 1.5-3" in the front. they run for about $30 a piece

I did the moog mod. firmer ride but no skipping. feels better to me. less "wander" in the steering too. a1c may be correct about the shocks, but for me so far so good. I can't find anything negative to say about it. My alignment guy had no problems.

I did the moog 844 coils and really like it. The truck rides better in my opinion. Feels "stronger". Ride is not rough at all, just firmer.

83project did you have any problems with getting your truck aligned with the 844s springs?

Still trying to decide between the 844 and 844s, but I am leaning towards the 844s because I am planing on adding a heavy front bumper in the near future.

No, fuelie74, no problems at all. these springs are "bigger" only because the diameter of the metal is thicker. It will set very close to the alignment bushing, but it will not hit it. Several other guys on here have done it also and said the same. If the alignement shop says it won't work, take it elsewhere... it is a little agravating (they may have to use a large wrench instead of air tools in a few places) but completely possible. I love it so far!

I just got my 844s springs ordered.

I am thinking of ordering extended shocks tomorrow and thinking about getting the Superlift Superide Shocks. Does anyone have any suggestions on what shocks to get? Keep in mind I am on a tight budget so high end stuff like Edelbrock and bilstein are out.
