build plate code question.
The truck's an '82 F-150 2wd built in Canada.
Trans code is a "K" and axle code is "13" and the DSO is "BV"
thanks

13 = Ford 9" Rear Axle / 2.75-1 / non Limited Slip / 3750 lb. Rear Axle Capacity.
The DSO isn't BV. You looked below DSO and found the spring codes: B = front spring / V = rear spring.
DSO's are composed of either two numbers (District Sales Office) or six numbers (Domestic Special Order), not letters.
Look above DSO, or to the left of DSO for the numbers.
I had just assumed it'd be a C-4, but didn't look right when I was under it. That's the main reason I was checking the #'s.
And 2.76's, no wonder the kid said the truck got pretty good mileage. Not sure how that's gonna work out for the trailer thing, though.
Looked above the DSO and found a 23.
Thanks for your effort sir, hope you had a nice holiday.

The K TRANS code was first used for the C6 in 1979.
Ford confusion: Prior to 1979, Ford used the letter G as the TRANS code for all F Series truck A/T's, regardless of what A/T the truck had.
I kid you not.One had to know which A/T was available with what engine.
C4: 11 transmission pan bolt holes.
23: Memphis TN Ford District Sales (Zone) Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
