Check and make sure the intake is on correctly and for a quick check, make sure the PCV valve and the hose that goes to the carb is not clogged. You may have more than a seal problem, too much blow by possibly (bad rings if the engine smoked constantly). Check the PCV valve first, it's the easiest to check!
