t 18 fix ?

hey
i was wondering if i could just pull the top plate on my t18
from inside the cab? i lnow there a large panel there...
sometimes it wont go into 3rd or reverse seems blocked 180000 mi on the trans.shifting forks worn ?

180,000 isn't much for that tranny.

Probably something simple.

And yes you can get to the top, by going through the floor. Remove the seat, and remove the floor covering, and then remove the inspection plate.

Either the forks or the tower is what I'm thinking... just by your description.

600,000 is alot for never being touched.

They have been known to go a million without trouble... just regular oil changes...

(Clutches excluded of course)


The T-18 is to transmissions is as the 300-I6 is to engines. Both considered bullet proof.
