Transmission problems?

Transmission problems?
I have a 95 F-150 4x4 with a 351. I just bought the truck and am having problems with the transmission. First off there looks to be a small leak coming from the bell housing. Also some days the truck shifts great, and on most other days the truck seems to take a longer time shifting from 2nd into 3rd. Does anyone have any ideas? Other than that the transmission will occasionally jerk slightly when im headed up steep hills when the truck is down shifting.
Any advice would be great.

Yes there are a few sensors that do that but you need to run the self-test and it may give a clue as to the one that is not right.
