my trouble is i bought this truck with the air cleaner sitting in a box on the seat. no hoses hooked up. no pcv valve hooked up. my air cleaner has 3 holes punched in it. 1 hole on the left side of the cleaner is empty. the 2 holes on the right side of the cleaner has a plastic diaphram type thing in each hole. they are made out of plastic. one green, one white. they each have 2 nipples on them. the air cleaner lid also has a metal diaphram on it with 2 nipples. the snorkle of the cleaner ( duct motor, i believe)also has a nipple with a short hose attached to a round diaphram, this one is white and blue. left hand valve cover has the oil filler on it in the front of the cover. on the right hand cover, at the rear of the cover is a hole with a rubber grommet in it.
can anyone tell me what all these diaphrams are, what gets hooked to them, and where do i hook up the pcv valve?
this trunk has none of the pollution tomato juice style cans in it.

You need to look at the Ford truck parts catalog illustrations, as the aftermarket shop manuals don't show much of anything, while the parts catalog pics have much greater detail.
There are several different ways to do this:
The 1973/79 FORD LIGHT TRUCK PARTS CATALOG in available on a CD from hipoparts.com for around $25.00 US.
Your local dealer may have this catalog, you can go there and look at the following illustrations I've listed.
Or, contact GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH (greensalescompany.com) and ask them to scan the following illustrations from this catalog, then email them to you.
AFAIK, there is no charge for this service.
ILLUSTRATION Section 66, Page 9 = PCV valve components and hose routing,
ILLUSTRATION Section 94.1, Page 32 = EGR components (if applicable) and routing.
ILLUSTRATION Section 96.1, Page 14 = Air Cleaner, all the attaching parts and routing for all this jazz.
