efi to carb conversion

I recently pulled my esi 460 out of my 89 F250 4X4 (blown head gasket). I have never been happy with the power I had with the efi. I found a '76 460 and a edllebrock 750cfm carb. I want to use my electric fuel pumps. I am hoping that I can bypass the high pressure pump and only use the buster pumps in the tank without a pressure regulator. Is this possible? I broke the timing cover on the carb engin so I can not use the manual pump without finding another cover. I am excited to hopefully get more power out of my favorite truck!!

uhm i dont think u can use the low pressure pumps in the tank alone... the reason is is that when u get throttle happy u will empty the fuel bowls out quicker than the pumps can fill them... a pressure regulator will work the best as long as its not the cheep ones.
one that BBK or someone like that makes

Yeah, just keep the high pressure pump. Install a pressure reg and return the excess back to the tank. Do you have emissions to worry about. If not then definatly do it. I love a carbed engine

Are you wanting to swap to MAF for the ability for more power adders? I never had a fuel injected 460, but I've heard they are dogs. I will vouch for my carbed 460, love it. I would go for the system that you have the most knowledge in.

im pritty fluent in both... i think he should go with the carb set up if he has everything except the pressure regulator.
