Freestyle clicking while turning
Yesterday, I noticed that my wife's 06 Freestyle was clicking while the wheels were turned to the stops. My first thought was that I had a bad CV joint. The car only has 51k miles on it and has been garaged and babied since new so I was surprised.
I took the front wheels off and the CV joint boots looked great on both sides. I did notice though that there was some wear on the steering stops. I put some synthetic grease on the stops on both sides and put the wheels back on. Worked like a champ. No more noise. All for the cost of...nothing.
I guess now I'll check those things during each oil change. The only question that remains: why do women not alert anyone when their car starts making strange noises?
