Where can I get the container for the schaeffer oil analasys.
I looked online with no luck.
I had a sample taken a while back and I'm getting close to the oilchange and would like to know where my oil is at. If it needs a change then I'm switching to synthetic and an oil bypass setup. But if it's still good oil in the engine that will last another 2000-2500 I'll hold off and deal with the hard starts in the 15degree heatwave Maine has been having.
In order to get the Schaeffers oil test kits, you have to buy a couple gallons or so, their compliment for you buying their oil. I gave smokin Lisa one I had extra laying here but my dealer is all out of the test kits, gotta wait till he restocks again so I can test on the next one.
Well that's a bummer. I was in hopes to be able to buy just the test kit so I can figure out when to swap to the good stuff. Whitebuffalo gave me the last sample kit when my turbo ate itself. I've wanted to swap to synthetic but figured I'd wait til the oil was "bad".
Where is the closest schaeffer dealer to Portland Maine.
If I had an extra one, I'd ship it to yaa but I'm waiting for myself, should have stopped by today, was near his farm service store. You could log on to Schaeffers web-site and see if theres a dealer around you and request a test kit, just tell them you would like to switch over and try their product and want to get an idea how the oil you have in there now is working out.
Schaeffer website is acting weird, but I got it to work enough so apparently there is no dealer in southern maine, and it wont even suggest the next closest one. I had to call direct.
I had to buy a case of 6 test kits for about 70 shipped. Not too bad. I think the blackstone place charges like 25. The cat dealer near me wants some unreasonable price I cant remember, but you need to buy this whole big kit with oil sucker and case and junk. Offtopic The cat elc coolant is cheap though, 9 for premix and 17 for straight. I gotta research if it works in our trucks though.
We'll at least you got them now and they are very good test, they give you numbers and explainations whats normal and such, nice readable test they give you. As far as the CAT ELC, go with the straight, I got it in my truck but went with the 50/50, its all they had, did a complete flush and all is good. One thing though, I had the gold(YELLOW) coolant, if yours has the green, I would wait and ask before you can do it, something about compatability.
