Rear End Ratio's
I have a 79 F-100 and need to figure out what kinda rear end i have. the code is 11. from what im guessing its a Dana 44 open diff with 3.08 gears but im not sure. My dad has a 80 F-100 with a rear end code 13. Its a 9" but not sure of gears or whether or not its open or limited slip.

Big Rebel,
Look on the housing of your rear end. There should be a small tag on one of the bolts on the passenger side. Clean it off and it should tell you the rear end ratio for your truck. I don't have the '79 books otherwise I just would have told you from that.... Good luck, Rick

Edelbrock cam,lifters, intake
CARTER 625 cfm
the codes show it to be a 2.75( 11) and for the (13) depending on the GVW rating it is a 2.75 also
non locking diff. on both
