no more ignition issues
last year i had to have the steering column replaced with a used one. this year the igition switch started acting up again and wouldnt start when pushed into the start position. so i decied today besides messing with it again i'd just install a sarter button. so all i have to do is turn the key to the on position and then push the start button and it fires up!
also added some new lights to the plow headlights, hope they help too see in the dark nights.
the starter button next to the O/D button
some shots of the truck

the plow has been on since '01, we only use it for familys drives plus a few others. plows dont hurt trucks..bad drivers/plowers do. i baby mine and havent had one issue plow related in the 9 years i've been running it.
i do need some heavy duty front spings though as the stockers are well worn out

I hear you bro,Me being from FL,and now living in Panama,I just dont see pick-ups with big plow blades on the front that much,in fact, only on these truck sites.I know Fords are some tough vehicles,If you been plowing with it for 10 years, you know it can handle it.The first time I ever even seen real snow, was when I was in AIT. in the Army in APG Maryland, back in 83-84,I walked out of a liquor store with gilligans island flat botton slip on tennis shoes, and went down hard on my right hip bone,I was hobbled up for a few days,in severe pain, needless to say,I learned quick how to walk in snow and ice.I just finished up a auto to manual T-18 swap in my 96 F-150,300 six engine,ex cab swb 2wd,with factory limited slip diff,I didnt even know it had the LSD untill just the other day I wanted to see what rear end it had in it and I climbed under it to ID the rear end and found the ID tag on the cover,it is a 3.55 gear. The granny gear trans. came out of a 90 F-150 lwb 2wd with only 11,000 miles on it with a crashed front end.It helps my uncle owns a garage in FL,he saved the tranny for me.Its always hot in Panama,(200 miles from the equator)no such thing as cold here.Great truck,Peace my friend.

your push button will work fine until the ignition actuator breaks the rest of the way, and stops working completely.
plus if you have an automatic trans, when the actuator breaks it will not let you shift out of park.
it is well worth the $13 it costs for the part to replace it correctly before you get stranded and have to call a very expensive tow truck.

nothing broke inside this time, last time it did. this time it was a electrical issue..not mechanical. if it happends oh well we'll deal with it when it comes. last time though even after it broke..whatever it was that broke..you could still turn the truck "on" and start it at the starter solenoid..it would run/drive just fine..."on" and "accy" still worked just fine but it did nothing when you pushed it forword to start. but now that we're not pushing on it anymore it shouldnt have anymore issues, hopfully ofcouse lol
lol and plus if it breaks it happends at home since the truck never gets shut off anywhere else(used for plowing/dump runs). it gets driven very little, plus worse case i know the owner of a tow company and the most it would cost is a 6 pack.
