I just bought a 2003 F250 with the 7.3 and it ran perfect when i test drove it until the next day when i went to crank it. It does start but runs extremely rough (shaking the entire truck) until it warms up which can take from 15-20 min. It has no check engine light on. It runs so bad that i cannot drive it until it is to operating tempature. If i try to drive it there is virtually no throttle response and if you floor it the engine might get to 1000rpm. I brought it to the local dealer and they told me it needed an engine coolant temp sensor then computer and then the fuel pump on the frame rail. I got it back and did the same exact thing the next morning after spending alot of money. It runs good once it is warmed up but cannot be driven until then. I have been told it could be the #8 injector ( as i was told it controls all the other injectors) but it doesnt seem that it would run good once it is warmed up if the injectors were bad..... the dealer said they did a buzz test and it passed...i have also been told that it could be the glow plugs but i thought the glow plugs were only used to get the vehicle started and then they came out of the picture once the truck is cranked... i checked the glow plug relay and it clicks so i guess it is working.. i plugged the block warmer in to see if that would help and it is still about the same..another person said that these trucks are bad about the injector connection under the valve cover....I am lost and about out of money.. any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Another dealer ripoff, they should be convicted of theft by deception, rant over. To me, It sounds like your EBPV is sticking in the turbo exhaust housing. I had the same symtoms as you once or twice before. A bump for a fix and welcome to FTE.
Dose it sound like it's running on less than all 8. Someone with more experience than me will chime in, but the dealer is not the the place to take it. You can spend a fortune trying to chase this down. I had or have a similar problem. It may be the under valve cover connector. It may be a connector in the harness. My truck would miss on and off on wet days and did this for 1-1/2 years and $750.00 . If you take off the drivers side wheel and pull the Inner fender loose from the back the IDM is up in the wheel well behind the door. You can remove that and see what condition its in. One bolt in the middle of the connector holds the harness to the IDM. I put a little dielectric grease on that connector. Also you can get to the computer connector from there and the three big bundles going through the firewall. All come apart the same way. I ended up doing every connector under the hood and the truck seems fine now,but too soon to tell for sure. It's something to try. The dealer is going to charge you 100.00 an hour plus parts and keep replacing stuff till your broke. The last thing the dealer wanted to do to mine was the IDM at $1000.00 plus labor. Unless your rich you have to get dirty. A Curtis
