Late Model 300 Fuel Injected Head

Has anyone rebuilt an older 300 C.I.D. engine using a later model fuel injected head with the original intake manifold and carburator? I sure would like to know if this setup will work.

Don't see why it shouldn't, the last FI head I looke at was visibly the same as the one on my 82, the injectors are in the manifold, so, they are probably the same.
