Upgrade to Sync?

Has anyone heard of or anyone tried to upgrade the factory radio with the Sync system?
I have an '09 Crew Cab XL with the XL Plus package (Single CD system)
A Buddy just bought an '09 XLT with Sync and I'm quite interested in having sync.

Any thoughts?

I realize i would not have the steering wheel controls without replacing the entire steering wheel.

if the vehicle line came with it you can get an upgrade, just call the parts dept and ask about the add on kit
