where do i find box sides for a stepside and what would make cut out when im driven it it has a 4.9 four speed i put a four barrel carb and intake that i found in the junkyard they were new no carbon buildup on or in them the truck they came off of started and ran any ideas please thanks
As far as the cutting out, you'll probably want to rebuild the carb and then adjust it for your engine. Was your truck running fine before you put the carb and intake on?
Have you considered checking junkyards for whole beds for your truck? LMC -should- have them (check their website, www.lmctruck.com)...but if you buy from them, be prepared to pay an arm and a leg. I would think getting a different bed would be easier too, since you wouldn't have to weld or anything.
it was worse with the old stuff it would die while driven and it would barly idle and had no power and yes i have cheaked the junkyards for a box and havnt found a box for it that wasnt a rust bucket or dented but i am looking for a shortbox stepside the carb is only a 550 cfm edelbrock i was thinking that i might have to put a distributor that has a vaccum advance the duraspark 2
