I have a First coast diesel EGR kit.

Thermostat is $50 and can be easily done.
So start there.
Use a real ford part --- not an aftermarket one to eliminate that as an issue.
Bleed out the air real good.

One other thing I did noticed was the fan was not kicking on when it got hot. Would it really make that big of difference when it's only 20 degrees out?? I need to look into this as well. Anyone point to a post on how to diagnose the cooling fan??
