your driver's side looks like the one on a cab i am thinking of replacing mine with. only other rust on the entire cab is a quarter sized hole on the passenger side cab corner.
i have torn into mine yet. just the parts truck i bought.
i use mine to get to work on snow days.
good luck and i look forward to seeing more pics in the future.

Some of the trim has nuts on the back side and some pulls off. For instance look on each end of door and there will be a nut on each side, take them off then it pops off.

sorry I should have looked at your pictures better first, im not sure if that trim comes off that way or not. Ive never had that style trim before but i would think it would be about the same.

Ill try it that way anyway.

Also I had some ideas with lowering this because its 2 wheel drive well i dont really want to do that anymore because it would be a waste because i wouldnt be able to drive it in the wintertime around here.

So right now I am considering doing a 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive with leaf springs in front or would the coils be better up front? I know im going to need a new transmission, transfercase, front axle, and front and rear drive shafts. what else would i need?

the easiest way to do a 2wd to 4wd swap is just to purchase a 4wd donor frame. otherwise it is a lot of cutting and fabbing on the 2wd frame

The trim CANNOT be polished like stated above. Here is a link on what needs to be done https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...dent-trim.html

I went to the thread and read all six pages. I noticed that you had some difficulty getting the results from what was recommended. What got the results you wanted? Was it sanding and whitepolish? Because thats what did it for me? Just curious since so many methods were mentioned

OK well..... does anyone know how to remove the trim? is there a specific way cause i still cant figure it out... the trim around the tail lights are just screwed on but the rest of the trim is confusing me.... Also after i unhook the tail lights undo the filler necks and bed bolts i should just be able to lift the bed off right?

Go to LMC and search there catalogue for trim. They show you exactly what fastener was used where. I have posted multiple times here about how to remove the trim also.

Removing the sockets from the taillights won't work. You need to disconnect the main harness under the bottom side of the bed then the bed will lift off freely.
