Just wanted to officially introduce myself to everyone. I am now the proud new owner of a 2010 F-350 as of December 4th!
I was originally looking at purchasing a Dodge when Chrysler went bankrupt and delayed the production of the 2010 Rams, a buddy of mine suggested I look at the Ford's and I am glad I did!
I plan to tow my Jeep Wrangler to the trails with the truck, and use it for DD duties. I have not had the opportunity to tow with it yet but already have 5,800 miles on the truck and will have over 7k on it in the next couple of days as I am driving back to Tampa from Texas.
The truck was hard to find, I found the one I wanted in Tacoma Washington and drove it back home to Florida. It was a great trip, and plenty of time to get acquainted with my new truck. During the trip I saw the first regen at 2526.2 miles with 42 hrs on the engine. The second came at 3146.7 with 51hrs on the engine. Now I see regen's around every 300 miles or so. I saw gas mileage anywhere from 13-17mpg on the highway depending on speed and terrain, and around 12.5 in the city. This info is all from the Lie-O-Meter, I really don't care to try and hand calculate I did not buy the truck for fuel mileage. Here are a few photos from the trip home.
When I first picked up the truck from the dealer.
Along the highway in Utah
Along Route 6 in Colorado at aprox 14k ft.
HAHA! Almost fits in the garage!
This truly is a great truck, and I could not be happier. I look forward to having this truck for a long time.
congratulations on the new truck. It is sharp looking and I am glad that you bought it for the right reasons and not to bitch about why you can't get 35 miles per gallon out of an 8,000 pound truck. You do need to haul something however. That truck won't even know that it is pulling a jeep. Like putting a golf bag in the trunk of a mustang GT.
Thank you! Your right, the Jeep won't be much for it. But I will be safe towing it! I am still amazed at how well the truck handles. Of course I am use to driving around a Wrangler which is no caddy, so I don't have much to compare it to.
very nice
always wish i got black
man that looks mean just the way it sits
wow just looked again HD i hate you JK congrads
wow then i backed up and read fully man never mind coast to coast corner to corner thats
determination u get what u want huh hhaa
Man do I wish I could see pictures here at work!!! I just put 05 Harley lights in my black 99 and the look is awesome!! I haven't seen an HD in the 08+ body style, and guess I'll have to wait a few hours more!! Congrats on not settling!!
just an fyi per ford regen up to every 100 miles is normal. The reason you did not regen in the first 3k is the dpf/doc is "green" and part of the pcm programing will not allow it to regen till that point.
Nice looking truck. Now that you have stepped up with the big boys you need to stop saying GAS mileage. it is now fuel mileage.....Don't put gas in these puppies. Bad situation.
Why didn't you just order one instead of driving all the way from Tacoma? I live in the seattle Area and would not have gone to Tacoma for a truck. Just wondering. For those that don't know, Lakewood (where the 4 cops were shot and killed) is basically South Tacoma.
Nice looking Grille. I have a 2008 F-350 and would not trade it for anything. You made a good move not buying a Dodge. I had a new Dodge in 1974 and I have never owned a bgger lemon. They lost me forever.
Fave fun with it.
