Custom Cab Side Trim question

Custom Cab Side Trim question
The paint on my 65 is finally finished and looks great! I'm very happy with the results, but now as I look at the custom cab aluminum side trim, I think it would distract from the new paint job. It's looking pretty bad, but I don't really have $800 to spend on buying all new peices.
Some of my pieces are in good shape, they just need to have the anodizing stripped and then shined up but some of the other pieces are really dented and scratched.
My question is has anyone mixed and matched old and new side trim, and how does it look? Is there a noticible difference between them? Are there any tricks to make them look like a matched set?
Thanks,
B.C.
