Hey, does anyone know if Ford put a front of the bed gas tank under the drivers side of the bed on any of the 77 F150's? I am looking to see if I can locate one. Would help to know if such a part exists. The deeper into this project I get the DEEPER I get.LOL... Beginning to wonder if this is my dream truck or just a "bad" dream...LOL....
my 77 F150 XLT came with what is called a "midship" gastank (it had two).. it is located between the axles and runs perpendicular with the bed....I junked mine when it had to be removed to add the exhaust system I wanted , but I believe JC whitney may be able to help you, good luck, you made a wise decision

Thanks for the info. I guess it is back to the junkyards as soon as I get the new bolt pattern drilled into that 85 Flairside bed to make sure that it will actually fit my frame.I guess if it was too easy...everybody would be doing it....LOL... Definitly need the dual tanks here with my rig getting 9-10 MPG's(but the most enjoyable 9-10 miles) and a long way between stations.....

Thanks, I found them in my JC Whitney catalog. Now the only thing is to get from the fuel door, which is in the front of the fiberglass flairside fender to my tank which used to fill from the backside of the wheelwell on my styleside bed. A long run. Do they sell the rubber filler neck in long lengths?
