heating issue

heating issue

replaced thermostat and flushed coolant system, still only getting lukewarm heat. no visible leaks of coolant. any thoughts on what i should check next?

Does the temperature gauge shown that the temp is getting to the "normal' range??

temp gauge

Yes it does show normal temp.
Also after looking at it again it appears that the upper radiator hose is empty, when I squeeze it with engine running I can fully compress it with resonable strength.

Also when I squeezed one of the heater core hoses, I had a buddy rev the engine and the hose would fill with pressure only when reving which seems odd to me.

I'm starting to wonder if it is the water pump but hopefully someone could give me a better insight.
