Im thinkin about buyin a 1989 f250 with a 300 strait 6 in it.
I have always had knowledge on the newer motors only. How big is this motor.
What are the usual problems with it.. What should i look for when i go to buy it?
Start it cold and listen for rattles and knocks
Check for high idle to indicate vacuum leaks
Check the check engine light
Do a compression test
Smell the exhaust
The guy has he does have a title...for some reason he said it can not be driven on the street..i asked why..he said cuz of the tires.. i told him i have 42s and i can..then he said something about because the fenders are cut...but im thinkin he is wrong on that..
the winshield has a crack, clutch and flywheel are shot.. said we can pop the clutch to turn it on,
he said he put the rebuilt motor in about 6 to 7 months ago and he has no idea of how many miles are on the car
