tie rod end torque?

tie rod end torque?
just installed new tie rod ends. couldn't find torque until i looked here!. i torqued them to 80 ft lbs. can someone tell me if being that tight will be of any concern? just want a piece of mind. thanks

I just changed the steering gear in my X and I believe the correct tie rod nut torque is 69 Lbs-Ft. Since tie rod nuts use cotter pins the correct procedure is to torque the nut to 69 Lbs-Ft. If the tie rod nut cotter pin slot does not line up with the bolt hole then tighten the nut until the next nut cotter pin slot lines up with the bolt hole. Install cotter pin and you are done.
