Fellow Ford Fanatics,
I just purchased a 1979 Ford F-150 351 Step-Side 4X4 and just received unfortunate news about the bearings on both the Transfer Case and Rear End while having both seals replaced by a friend (Ford Machanic). Question is, with a complete refurbish of the truck should I have it rebuilt or would I be better off with buying a new one?
I just got done with drivetrain rebuild and had problems with my front bearing and seal on my NP205 and the seal on my front pumpkin, Rebuilt them both and they are great, luckily I had my front driveshaft checked for balance and that was my culprit replaced it with a new one. Just a thought when you redo yours. New ones are really pricey. Hope this helps.
