no start

i am new to the 7.3 just boought one last week wont even fire in cold (0)))unless plugged in for a few hours how do you check glow plugs where is gpr

WELCOME TO FTE!!! The GPR is located (when standing on the front bumper) to the left of the fuel filter housing. The GPR stays on a lot longer than the light. It normally stays on for 2 minutes. I would turn the ignition "ON" and watch the battery/charge" gauge and see if it drops after 2 minutes. If it does then crank it up. If it doesn't it could be the GPR. Some one else will give you a more detailed approach on the troubleshooting.
