Ok I found one problem with my truck and have it fixed, I think. What I need to know is, is there a correct way to set the idle on this truck ( 97 F250 5.8 / auto)
I was noticing the idle was to high and was told I could have a vacuum leak somewhere causing this and the other problems with my truck (spark knock) I have been all over this truck and cannot find a vacuum leak, timing has been checked etc... well I figured I could not make it worse and figured someone may have messed with the mechanical idle screw ( throttle lock screw, whatever its called) anyway, I turned it down to what sounded right and the truck runs ALOT better, It dont feel like something is holding it back.
Is there a correct way to set the idle screw to where it is suppose to be exactly. I figure if I got close and it made that much of a difference, then if I get it exact, it will be that much better. I appreciate any help or insight yall can give.
I take it you also have a 1997 F250 with a 5.8 and it is a Cal truck and you want Jeff Dodson to email you if it worked or not.
Right?
If not you are going to send him procedure B for a 97 truck.
Right?
