I have searched the previous threads and tried some of the solutions, but I still have my problem.
1992 f150 5.8 with one fuel tank
The truck would not start with the ignition switch, but we could start it from the solenoid. Replaced the ignition switch and the ignition part under the steering wheel. THe truck would still not start with the key. Next morning the truck would start with key. Pulled truck into the garage and shut it off. Come back later and the fuel pump would not run.
Fuel pump will run but has no power at it. Do not seem to have any power at the inertia switch. We have checked all the fuses and the relays.
I tried to jump the #2 position with the #6 position on the eec test plug. Nothing happened, and now the check engine light no longer comes on when in the run position.
I replaced the pcm relay and my cel came back on. I hear a click when turning on the ignition and 2 seconds later another click. I now have 11.4 v at the inertia switch now but no fuel pump. I tested the inertia switch for continuity and it has it so the switch should be closed.
Check the power at the inertia switch with a test light, a meter does not work well in this circuit.
If the test light lights check the and make sure the jumper for the fuel selector switch is in good up by the headlight switch.
If the jumper is good check at the plug going to the tank at the frame with the test light to see if you have power on the two power wires for the pump with a test light.
The wires are the brown wire with a white stripe and the orange ground wire.
If the test light lights at the plug then I would say you have a bad pump.
