Unhappy No Brake lites

Hi all, I have a 1988 F-250 big truck :-) I got stopped by the cops last night for not having any brake lites. I had them the night before. I have all other lights, consul, overhead, headlites, signal and backup lites. I've checked fuses - all good. I went under the dash and there are all kinds of wires and this thing that looks like it fits somewhere but I don't know where and it doesn't look like it has fallen off anywhere. It's metal with a little spring in it. I check the brake pedal, nothing attached to it; just goes straight into the plunger. I checked under the hood, but there are so many wires under there, I can't tell squat. PLEASE HELP! I can't afford to take my truck into a stealership.

that metal thing with the little spring in it is your brake light switch what you need to do is there is a little pin that holds your brake pedal to your plunger take that off and pull the pedal lever off the plunger then put the switch lined up with the hole in the pedal lever and feed the plunger back through the brake pedal and put the pin in that should fix your problem

Umm, someone should take a picture of that setup. I think explaining it to someone who has no idea what it is may be a little complicated. If I can get to it later I will.

I know what you're talking about. I don't know how that thing would have fallen off. It's just hanging there. It's going to be a real b*@ch putting that thing back on. How does it go on? A picture would really help. Does it connect to anything or just hang on where the pin is located?

Just checked my Zone manual to see if there was a picture in it. No good. Pictures are good.
