grounds

so I'm gonna put new thicker battery cables on my truck today. But the ground cable seems to be grounded in an odd place to me...so I wanna move it, i know this is a stupid question but i just wanna be sure. Am I gonna have a crappy ground if i just go directly to the frame rail beneath my battery instead of going back to the auto parts store and buying a ridiculously long battery cable?

You have to have a heavy gauge ground wire from the battery direct to the engine.

Good thinking. The starter draws a huge current and it is vital that it has a good ground wire, so the need to go direct to the engine.
