droping in a 351 windsor would be the cheapest.the 302 has a short stroke,and because of this has little torque.in these heavy trucks you need torque to get it moving.or you can stroke the 302 to 347,but would be cheaper to go with 351.IMO

You might have more response if you post in the 302/351 forum, state what youve got now and how much $ you want to spend. You never said what trans or rear gear ratio you have, if your rear end gears are real high that might be the best bang for your buck

intake, carb, headers, ect.... though i'd just thrown in a decent 351W and mod that
putting a 302 in these trucks was a mistake, 302's are AMAZING motors for cars but dont have much torque. a 351W will produce more horses, and torque cheaper than a 302. if it was a mustang i'd say stroke it but not in a truck
