gt40 heads?

Hey guys what years explorers did they put the gt40 heads on the 5.0's. Just wondering. Want a pair, but want to find them cheap.

I think they were on the 96 Explorer. From what I understand the GT40P heads are a little better. Try Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Marauder, and Towncar those guys are always doing mods and I think there have been several threads on the subject.

If I remember correctly, they went to gt40 heads in February 97. My Feb build Mountaineer has them. I believe there is a difference in the egr set up and possibly the coil packs.
