Picked up my new '03 EB yesterday (Laser Red), didn't have it off the lot 30 minutes when I opened the rear vent windows my radio shut off and I lost power to the vent window. Checking the manual and determining that I had also lost the doorlock illumination confirmed that fuse #22 had blown. I removed and replaced the blown 10 amp mini fuse. Now I attempted to open and close the vent window with the radio off and had no trouble. However, as soon as I tried it with the radio on the fuse blew instantly. So, is this a problem with my vehicle or is there simply too much amperage draw on this circuit for a 10 amp fuse? If so, I'd think most would be seeing this happen. Anyone hear of this?
Mine has no problem with fuses. But I did have the right tail-light fall off because they didn't put the two screws in from the factory. I also had my right turn signal go into a super-fast blink once, which I wonder was somehow related. Glad I bought the extended warranty.
We noticed when we got our '03 XLT home that the radio and power windows wouldn't work. They were both working when we left the dealership. Took it back to the dealership and they kept it overnight because it was late. Went back the next day to pick it up and it has been fine every since. No other problems. I guess a fuse had blown.
wjtank, when you say power windows, are you talking about the vent windows in the rear or the door windows? If you're talking about the doors then it's a different issue, as that's on a different circiut, not #22. But if you're talking about the vents then it may be a related issue.
