1, hopefully very quick question

I have just read through dozens and dozens of pages of hundreds of posts and I still have 1 question. All of the posts regarding EGR disconnection are related to '03, late'03 and '04 builds. I have an '06. So, in an '06, can I pull the plug and save my engine from this BS carbon (carbon, the new 4 letter word)? Will I suffer any consequences? What can I expect...? ... I know that's 3 questions...

you can I did for awhile didnt notice anything different. you will probably get a cell but that is it. I have read about the turbo vains locking but I didnt notice it on my 06. make sure the key is off the engine is cold when you do it. the best thing to do is delet or block the egr and get a custom tuned sct to turn the egr system off.

AS Texans said, you can unplug the EGR valve when the engine is cold but you'll probably get a check engine light(CEL). The hot exhaust gasses will still be going through the EGR cooler where they can vaporize and melt the solder, causing coolant leaks into the intake. This normally happens when the oil cooler gets plugged with casting sand on the coolant side, slowing down the flow of coolant. As you've probably read, the best solution is to get rid of the EGR cooler altogether and replace the oil cooler while you're that far. My coolant temp and oil temp were about 20 degrees different and after this procedure they're only 3 or 4 degrees apart. A coolant filter is highly recommended.
