I have found a Dana 70 rear in an old truck that my uncle has. 79 F350 dually. Tell me if I am correct in thinking that i should be able to put it under my Bronco. I will check the measurements on it later today.
I know it is a newbie question but I have never dealt with anything like this.
I looked at the rear end yesterday. I think it will work as is. It is a cab and chassis truck. On a regular dually the inside tire lines up with front tires. on this truck the front tire is lined up between the duals. I have always heard that the cab and chasis rears were narrower.
This truck has been sitting for several years. It has a 400 in it that was rebuilt 5000 miles before it was parked. The engine is locked up from sitting. My uncle has given me the truck. I may be able to unlock the engine with marval mystery oil.
My guess is something else major, maybe the trans went out just after they put the money into the motor. Thought it would be easier to just get a new car... Who knows.
It was a welding truck. My uncle removed the welding machine and parked the truck because the body is rusted out bad. I don't really need the engine but figured it would be worth a try to free it up. It has the 4 speed tranny.
