Hey guys looking at a 2008 F350. Wanna know the good, the bad, everything. I have heard that there is such a thing as job 1, job 2, and job 3 with these trucks. With job 3 being the best, as far as having the bugs worked out on them. I am wondering how you can tell what job it is? Also, anything else that you can tell me would be helpful.
It appears you have four questions. The answers to all are YES. Probably the reason you have not had any responses is that your questions are way to vague. The FTE site is very user friendly. Just use the search topic for any of the answers you desire.
Then, ask a question with much more specificity and you will get many answers and comments. Welcome aboard and looking forward to your next posts.
For finding out about the 6.4 specifically, I would go down a little ways and go to the 6.4 forum. Not everyone from that forum hangs out in this one and vice versa.
6.4 owner here. Job 1, 2 or 3 refers to build dates with job 3 being after Jan 08. Job 3's would be the best as all of the bugs have generally been worked out. Radiators seem to be the biggest of issues with these. Some of that has to do with the design of the radiator and I think the thermostat.
I have never had a problem but I do check it often as you should do with any truck you own.
Regen's or cleaning of the exhaust filter (DPF) is a sore spot thanks to the EPA. You have to burn fuel to clean the DPF up and because of that issue the MPG's suffer a bit.
But the motor is strong and good puller and the ride is great. I love mine.
