I have a 2000 F350 PSD suppose to be 4x4. My spare canister continued to have a leak, including the 3 that I replaced it with, so I took it out completely and wired the pump directly to keep the ac and heat going. With this said, the vacume lines going to the hubs were plugged so idealy manually locking them should work. Wrong!
Even after locking the hubs I have nothing from the front end. I got stuck in my front yard yesterday, level grass but wet! This is unexceptable! What is wrong? I plan on going with some Warn hubs, but would like to know if that is the only problem. If I man. engage the hubs, it should work, correct? Thanks.
First need to determine if the x'fer case is locking in, as well as the hubs. Hubs you can tell just by reaching in and turning the U-joints on each front wheel. If those are locked, as they should be if you manually locked them, then it's probably your x'fer case not shifting.
The xfer case locks in but no spin on either side with the hubs locked. Yep, the light comes on through hi and low end like it should. I talked with a buddy of mine earlier and he said he had a similar issue with his PSD awhile back, but only one side was inop. He replaced both hubs with warn premium and been fine ever since. I guess thats what I need to do to get some front action?
